THEN :: Ice & Dice Robot 2 Robot Street Drags Sunday Night 15 August 2010
Ice & Dice Robot 2 Robot Street Drags
Sunday night should see a huge crowd turn up for the Ice & Dice Robot 2 Robot Street Drag Racing event to be held at Rock Raceway. A good entry of competitors for the night is expected to turn up and enjoy good old fashioned street dicing. Crowds will be delighted to see BMW’s drivers taking on Merc’s, VW’s, Nissans and Opel’s, let’s not forget the Ford’s?
The Rock is now the new cool meeting place for people who are single and looking for a “Joll” Ensuring that the “Joll” is hip hop and upbeat, the renown DJ Wesley better known as DJ Spirit will tune the vibe to the vibrant beat of the drag racing theme.
Pucker dicing the old fashioned way still proves the best and quickest way to sort the boys and girls from their toys. No timing equipment or speed traps, just who’s first over the robot. Everyone will get plenty of runs, and it is none stop quick and next dice to the lights.
“MR Mad” Morn’e from Mad Customs will also entertain DB Drags for the sound fanatics. The loud crowd need to beat the highest DB output to be crowned DB Drag King or Queen of the night. Morn’e will also post the winners on Face book and on the Rock website.
Plenty of patrons can dash off to the food courts before embarking on the lapa court in high spirit as the party legends jived the night away.
This concept of racing gives the average street racer an opportunity to exercise the freedom of speed with his or her own vehicle in a safe and controlled environment on a circuit that safety is priority. An added bonus is that Rock Raceway has qualified medical staff with an ambulance on site during the events.
Now petrol heads need not go out and break the law anymore, by drag racing in the streets or worrying if you are going to get caught by the long arm of the law, and have your vehicle impounded or boxed. Rumour has it that the law will be impounding and or destroying vehicles that delve into the sport of illegal street racing. Not to mention losing your licence.
The good news is that offices of the law have given Rock Raceway the blessing to entertain this sport on Rock Raceway property. The understanding is that petrol heads that go out in the streets and break the law will be dealt with severely. The officers will however monitor patrons to and from the venue, and as long as there are no traffic violations committed on the public roads, will there be no trouble for the adrenalin speed junkies.
Simply bring your car to The Rock Raceway in an orderly fashion on Sunday nights enter your car by purchasing the privy card or pay a entry fee for the day and go have some fun.
When done racing return home again in a calm and orderly fashion without breaking the traffic law. Remember true champion drag racers keep drag racing on race tracks, death off public roads and respect for the law. This way everyone can enjoy motorsport in South Africa.
